According to a survey conducted by Grayscale Investments, more than 55% of owners of the first cryptocurrency purchased it within the last year.
26% of American investors (who were involved in some form of personal investing, with at least $10,000 in household investable assets) already own Bitcoin, according to a Grayscale Investments survey. More than 55% of cryptocurrency holders have purchased it in 12 months. More than a half, 77% of respondents see Bitcoin as an investment asset, not a means of payment.
This online survey was conducted from August 12 to 20, 2021, among 1,000 investors aged 25 to 64, whose investment assets for a family (excluding pension savings and real estate) amount to at least $10,000.
About 37% of survey participants said they do not plan to hold cryptocurrency for more than a year but want to make money on speculation with the asset. However, more than half of the respondents (55%) adhere to a long-term investment strategy. In addition, 20% of survey participants agree that Bitcoin is a payment instrument.
Bitcoin has become the most popular cryptocurrency among US investors. Also, almost half of them own Ethereum and Dogecoin.
In early November, it became known that almost half of millennials in the US (49%) invest in digital assets. Among Gen X and Baby Boomers, 37% and 22%, respectively, are interested in investing in crypto and doing it.
In June 2021, BitPay published the survey results. According to them, about 92% of American millennials who currently own or have owned crypto before want to use digital coins for their daily purchases.
